چکیده
The current study applied gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC–MS), liquid (LC-MS), and thermal desorption direct analysis in real-time mass (TD-DART-MS) methods to the of black pepper (Piper nigrum L.) samples from different countries. powder were analyzed directly by TD-DART-MS without any extraction, but for GC–MS LC-MS methods, a methanol extraction procedure was employed before analysis. Various compounds, such as piperamides terpenes, detected. Partial least squares-discriminant (PLS-DA) used classify based on their origins. Total ion spectrum (TMS) data profiles GC–MS, LC-MS, constructed evaluated performance classification. A cubic-root transformation tested preprocessing found be effective improving classification rates. average rates PLS-DA models with GC–MS-cubic-root-TMS, LC-MS-cubic-root-TMS, DART-MS-cubic-root-TMS representations 94.1 ± 0.6%, 87.7 97.0 0.3% respectively, 100-time bootstrapped-Latin-partition cross-validation. This presents first time plant-based food materials using TD-DART-MS, it has been demonstrated simple high-throughput method studies.

Biological role of Piper nigrum L. (Black pepper): A review
Piper nigrum is famous as the spices king due to its pungent quality[1]. Piper nigrum (P.nigrum) L. is a member of family Piperaceae[2-4]. The genus piper has more than 1000 species but the most well known species are P.nigrum, P.longum and P.betle; 51 cultivars of p. nigrum have been reported from the tropical and subtropical regions of India [5]. P.nigrum fruits are also used to produce white...

Present study evaluated in vitro antioxidant activity and cytotoxicity of four important Piper species (P. nigrum L., P. chaba Hunter, P. longum L. and P. colubrinum Link.) and six black pepper varieties (Sreekara, Subhakara, IISR Malabar Excel, Panniyur-1, Panchami and IISR Thevam). It was performed with sequential extracts of the dried berries/fruits using n-hexane, chloroform, methanol and w...

Physicochemical Characteristics of Essential Oil of Black Pepper (Piper nigrum) Cultivated in Chittagong, Bangladesh
Background: Black pepper (Piper nigrum) is mainly cultivated in tropical areas such as South India. It is known as a popular spice in all over the world. Although some studies have been carried out to determine the ingredients of black pepper Essential Oil (EO) cultivated in various regions of the world, but there is little data about some physicochemical characteristics of EO of black pepper c...

A Gram positive, rod shaped potential strain selected from the pool of a bacterial isolates obtained from the Western ghat forest on the basis of zone of P-solubilization activity. Identification based on 16S rRNA gene sequence reveals that, the strain is of Bacillus species, which shares highest sequence similarity to Bacillus tequilensis NRRL B-41771 (99.5%). Strain NII-0943 was able to produ...
